I’ve always had a love for pleated skirts even as a little girl. They remind me of school uniforms but in a good way, since I’ve never had to wear uniforms as a kid. School girl but make it fashion!

As I grew older and my body started to change, it became harder to find pleated skirts that fit well. A decent length, and good quality is all I needed.

While thrifting, I would always find vintage pleated skirt but they were so long and stiff. I recently came across one that I loved in HM, and to my surprise it was only $25! Not bad if you ask me. I thought why not help out my faves find pleated skirts for their own wardrobe this Spring and Summer. The key to finding the right skirt for your wardrobe is making sure you buy a color or print that will compliment items you already have. Neutrals or pops of color work but the rule of thumb is being able to style a piece at least 3-5 ways before buying it.

The skirt I recently purchased was black and was very good quality for the price. It fits my waist perfectly and falls right above my knees. I’ve styled it at least 5 times already and the outfits are endless!

So…what are some ways I’d style it you might ask. Paired with your favorite sweatshirt and even a button down shirt underneath, will definitely give school girl but make it fashion. Don’t forget to throw on a pair of your favorite kicks to really set the tone. Another cute look would be wearing a sweater vest. It’s all about toning down what people call a “girly” piece with something more cozy or comfortable. Those are just a few ways that you can style your pleated skirt.
