I will be sharing 5 Tips for Starting and Building your Pinterest Account. These tips will help position you brand to get more traffic and build a solid audience organically.
According to Sprout Social, Pinterest has 291 million monthly active users. In this case we as business and brands we should use the platform to our benefit.
The first thing you should do is create a Business Pinterest. My suggestion is that you create a brand new business Pinterest account even if you currently have a personal account already. You will also want to claim your website as well so that everything is linked properly.
Once your business account is created you will need to pin 20+ pins a day. Rule of thumb it should be 80% re-pins from other accounts and about 20% of your own pins linking back to your website or other platforms that you want your audience to visit.
Create boards that are related to your niche or business and make sure they have descriptions and keywords. Descriptions for pins and board are important for your audience so that they know what/who they are following and repining.
After doing much research on Pinterest Ive found that the best time to pin and re-pin is 9 pm. Although I pin and re-pin throughout the day to the majority of my boards I see the most activity at that time. Test it out and be intentional.
The last tip I would like to share is that you should download the Keyword Search Tool to your computer. This tool is super instrumental in helping with planning how and what you pin so that it does well when posted and is ultimately repined.
