The Holiday is here and because I am a huge foodie, I took it upon myself to share my favorite recipes with you so that you can show out at your next family gathering or the next work potluck. These recipes are all delicious and they don’t take much to make so glow up on your family and friends!
Uh Huh Honey Bun Cake
What You Need:
1 Yellow Cake Mix
3/4 Cup of Oil
4 Eggs
8 oz Sour Cream
1 Cup Brown Sugar
2 Cups of Powdered Sugar
4 Tablespoons of Milk
1 Tablespoon of Vanilla Extract
How to make it:
Mix cake mix, oil, eggs and sour cream by hand about 50 strokes
Put half the batter in 9×13 pan.
Combine brown sugar and cinnamon and spread over entire cake. Spread the rest of the batter on top of this.
Use a knife to make swirls in the cake.
Bake at 325 for 40 mins,
Blend powdered sugar, mill and vanilla extract and spread on warm cake.
Kick Ass Collards
What you need:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 slices bacon (optional)
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 pinch red pepper flakes
- 1 pound fresh collard greens, cut into 2-inch pieces
**Add your own signature seasoning. I usually do Tony Chaceries creole seasoning**
How to make it:
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add bacon, and cook until crisp. Remove bacon from pan, crumble and return to the pan. Add onion, and cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Add garlic, and cook until just fragrant. Add collard greens, and fry until they start to wilt.
- Pour in chicken broth, and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 45 minutes, or until greens are tender.
Your Favorite Auntie’s Mac & Cheese
What You Need:
- 1 (8 ounce) package elbow macaroni
- 1 (8 ounce) package shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1 (12 ounce) container small curd cottage cheese
- 1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
How to Make it:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil, add pasta, and cook until done; drain.
- In 9×13 inch baking dish, stir together macaroni, shredded Cheddar cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream, Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes, or until top is golden
Bomb Ass Whiskey Cider
What You Need:
- 1 Gallon of apple cider
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoons grated nutmeg
- whole cloves (optional)
- 1 orange, cut into slices (optional)
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
- Your Favorite whiskey
How to Make It:
Heat the cider, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and orange slices in a 3-quart saucepan or pot. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes or until the mixture is hot, stirring occasionally. Add your favorite whiskey as desired. Strain the cider into a heatproof pitcher or individual mugs. Garnish with cinnamon sticks and whipped cream, if desired.
