After waiting two hours to purchase tickets online, Morgan and I finally made it to check out the Yayoi Kusama Exhibit here in LA. The Broad is normally free but due to high demnad for this exhibit you had to pay $25 in advance for tickets. Not bad definitely cheaper than my Museum of Ice Cream tickets.
Yayoi Kusama is an 88 year old Avante-garde sculptor, painter and novelist. She started painting at the age of 10 and the rest is history. I was pretty excited to see the Infinity Mirrors exhibit and after I was able to snag tickets for late afternoon we started planning what we wanted to wear to really make the pictures pop.
We were definitely in for a rude awakening when we got in line for entry. We were told by The Broad staff that you could only spend 30 secs per party in each room. I learned that 30 seconds isnt even enough to turn around and catch your breath. If you do plan on visiting the exhibit just know you either need a Master Photographer with you or you’ll have to be spot on snapping pictures of yourself and friends as quick as you can. Get your poses ready!
If you want to check out this exhibit make sure that you sign up for The Broad mailing list to get updates!
I won’t get deep into the names and means of the art but check out my experience below!
