My weekends in LA are pretty eventful for the most part. But with me still working full-time as an HR Generalist I have no choice but to live it up on the weekends!
I’ve made it my business to scope out new restaurants to try, museums to visit and locations to shoot. So that’s a brief overview of what I do on the weekends.
If you know anything about me you know that I am a foodie and a sweets connoisseur. So anytime I get the opportunity to check out a new place with sweets I’m always down. I had come across a place on Instagram called Snow Monster that had these color light bulb glasses filled with boba tea and macaroon ice cream sandwiches. I instantly knew I had to check it out and that’s just want we did.
It was tucked away in Koreatown and it took us about 30 minutes to find a parking spot but it was well worth the wait. I ordered a Light Bulb Sunset Strawberry Lemonade and a Chocolate Chip stuffed Oreo Cookie Ice cream sandwich. Both were so good. The chocolate chip cookie was warm and the ice cream took it to the next level. The best way for me to describe it… Heaven in a cup. Such a sugar rush. The Sunset Strawberry Lemonade was also delicious, probably the best Lemonade I’ve ever had. I think the best part was that we could take the Bulb bottles home and could bring them back for refills for a discounted price. I’ll most definitely be going back.
If you’re in the CA area make sure you check out Snow Monster ! They have delicious dessert options!
Sunday is not only for rest, it’s made for Brunching as well. To celebrate my friend Morgan’s 26th Birthday we went to brunch at The Church Key. The Church Key not only took us to church with the best playlist in the land but the bottomless drinks brought it all together.
First things first, I ordered bottomless mimosas and Morgan ordered bottomless Rose’. To make sure our stomaches were coated properly drink our bottomless drinks we both ordered the Chicken and Waffles. I know, the token meal of all brunch spots but they didn’t have my favorite option.. French Toast so Chicken and Waffles was the next best thing.
I’ll be honest and say that I would rather have fried chicken over beerbattered chicken. And a breast and leg are the only pieces of the chicken that I like. I know I’m a very picky eater. But the waffle was TO DIE FOR. It literally melted right when I poured the syrup on it. I inhaled that pretty quickly and contemplated ordering fries to do more stomach coating. Overall, The Church Key is my new favorite brunch spot. Given it’s the only brunch spot I’ve been to since moving to LA but I loved the atmosphere and the customer service was great! Cant beat it!
